We’ve got the perfect Christmas gift idea for you…
In The Box Christmas Photoshoot – The creation story.
I really can’t believe we have pulled this off to be honest with you. When I asked my husband if he could knock a wooden box up for me for this new bonkers idea I had I thought it would be a quick doddle, and I guess so did he. I can’t deny it was a much bigger job than expected. After hours of labour in the garage and a bit of blood, sweat and tears, I am please to say it is finally complete. Does it weigh a ton and need a van to transport? Yep. Does it need two people to lift? Yep. Is it too big to fit through the front door? Yep (oops) but somehow, with a little miracle, we’ve managed it.
So here we are, below is a test shoot of my little two year old. That was the part I thought would be difficult, photographing a TWO year old but no, that was surprisingly easy. He and my family had so much fun getting involved and playing in and around the box. It was even more fun than I had first thought and I am over the moon to say the least.
I am incredibly in love with these images. The first thing I did when I made this sample up was order myself a mug, a t-shirt, a mouse mat, a note pad, prints for the family and Christmas cards (I went a bit crazy I know ha). I couldn’t help myself. Before I have even offered this session to clients or created a price sheet I’m off ordering my own gifts! This is why I know past and new clients will all love this product. It’s as fun as a cake smash and as smart as a family shoot. It really ticks all of the boxes (see what I did there?). You can have it as a Christmas session or keep it casual, you can have your pets involved, grandparents or simply let the kids have fun and get creative. The possibilities are truly endless.
Our only dilemma is that it is impossible for us to store at the studio. Therefore we are going to have to make this a very limited session. We are looking to shoot these for around 3-4 full days only in the lead up to Christmas so please don’t miss out. The best way to keep in touch for more info on dates and styles is to sign up to our mailing list here or simply email us directly using the contact form found here.

It took quite some time to decide on what dimensions we we’re going to have. Not originally thinking that we would need to fit it through the front door I wanted it as big as can be! Ooops.
My amazing husband Matthew working until the late hours trying to get this thing done for my deadline.
The top was on and it had it’s first coat of paint. It finally started to look like it should.
…and now it was time for some finishing touches. Although we may give it another coat after it’s first test.
The last challenge was to get it though the doorway. We did have to remove the door with only 0.5cm to spare!
Luckily we had a bit of help from the man with the van (aka my dad) and got it in! Woo!
I would love to know your thought’s on this idea and if you have any ideas on how we could fill it with decorations that would be amazing too! Simply comment below. Thank you!
