Outdoor Photoshoot Outfit Guide
How to make the most of your outdoor session.
It’s all about the preparation to get the results you want. Here I have put a few little simple tips for you. If you are struggling or need advice, please feel free to give me a call 0113 8694051.
Match your backdrop
- Plan your outfits well. For example, autumn colours are a must for autumn sessions. Matching the environment in tone and texture makes all the difference.
- Don’t have autumn tones? Why not google a colour wheel and find a complementary opposite or a colour that sits side by side with the tones of your backdrop.
- Another option is to take colours from what else is present in nature at that time of year.
Fabrics make a difference
- Avoid synthetic materials. Anything shiny or plastic can look really out of place. Especially when it comes to outerwear. Rubber wellies, wool clothing, linens and natural fibres work really well.
Prepare to sit outdoors
- This might sound like an obvious one. However, once you’re dressed in your best you may not want to sit down or have your children sit down outdoors. To get the most out of your session we often ask for you to sit on the ground. Feel free to bring a neutral blanket with you if this makes things easier for you.
Do a little research
- A simple thing to do is to look online and simply copy the colour palette or what others have done. Being in sync with each other has a great impact. We have a wonderful Pinterest board here that might help you.
I hope this helped you. If you need any more advice please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Email us on studio@meagansarahphoto.co.uk or call 0113 8694051.
