Maya-Nour’s first Newborn Photoshoot

Maya-Nour (like all the little cuties that come into the studio) was a total dream. I could happily photograph her everyday. She slept through getting undressed and fell asleep comfortably on the beanbag. Both of her parents had a lovely calming presence and I could tell that was having a very positive effect on little Maya-Nour. As soon as we lay her down she would not stop smiling so much so I thought she was even laughing at one point! To balance her adorable smile at the beginning she also hit us with some killer frowns which you will see towards the end. I don’t believe they were frowns of sadness, more frowns of concentration in which she revealed so much character in her beautiful face.

You may notice little Maya-Nour has had her little head shaved. This is normal in her parents culture, in which they believe that if you shave newborn hair off it will grow back thicker and longer. It was certainly nice not having messy newborn hair to contend with which often has a mind of it’s own and can become very greasy too! She definitely rocked the short hair look wouldn’t you agree?
